What is CAMP?

We wanted a collaborative place to work surrounded by inspirational people.
A day at the office for us includes relaxing on a comfy couch with a laptop. Good coffee, a muffin from a local bakery, and maybe even a beer. And being motivated and inspired by all of the productivity, fun, and camaraderie surrounding us. We never want to miss a day.

CAMP isn’t: A coffee shop. Desks lined up end-to-end. Your private office.
CAMP is: Filled with hardworking but fun-loving people like you.

We tend to work harder when we are surrounded by people who are also on task. There are fewer distractions and we feel motivated by the productive atmosphere. But unlike working at home or in a coffee shop the downtime is also more productive?side conversations become collaborations, distractions become fun new inside jokes, and getting up to stretch becomes riding a razor scooter down the hallway.

The greater metropolitan area of Omaha will be participating in the national event known as Lemonade Day on May 1, 2011. Founded by philanthropist and entrepreneur, Michael Holthouse, Prepared 4 Life launched the first Lemonade Day in 2007 in Houston, Texas. Lemonade Day provides a free, fun and educational opportunity to learn life and job skills, with the assistance of a caring adult mentor, through becoming an entrepreneur. The program encourages participants to do three things with their profit – spend a little on an item set as a goal to purchase, save a portion to learn the importance and value of financial responsibility, and donate a fraction to a local charity, cause, project, individual, church, or other organization and experience the significance and satisfaction of giving back to their community.

Bio Nebraska Life Sciences Association (Bio Nebraska) was formed in 2005 as a nonprofit trade association dedicated to the development and growth of Nebraska’s bioscience industry through:

Supporting basic research in the life sciences

Aiding in the development of a highly educated work force; and

Providing a welcoming environment for attracting new and expanding businesses

In Nebraska, the life sciences industry is thriving because its workforce has a flair for technology and the state’s tax incentive programs make it profitable for internationally known companies to expand. Nebraska is home to production facilities for Novartis, Pfizer, MDS Pharma Services, Schering-Plough Animal Health, and Novozymes. The above, combined with Nebraska’s major medical centers in Omaha, the University of Nebraska bioscience research centers in Lincoln, and two technology parks, make Nebraska an appealing place for the life sciences community to do business.
