Our Mission
It is the Mission of SCORE Chapter 40 and each of our members to develop and deliver entrepreneurial education and support, and foster the formation, growth and success of small business in eastern Nebraska. We strive to do so consistent with the skills, best practices and demands of small business in today’s and tomorrow’s environments.
Chapter History
The Omaha Chapter of SCORE was founded in 1963 as Chapter 40. We are an active chapter with more than 70 volunteer members, almost all of whom are counselors. Chapter 40 counselors are experienced business owners and managers who volunteer their time and experience to help current and future small business owners achieve success.
The objective of the Omaha Chapter is to communicate and deliver business focused information, knowledge and insight all of which is valuable for, and understandable by, our clients. Our volunteer business counselors are dedicated to providing the best possible service. Face-to-face, by phone or online, our counselors are able and willing to aid in the successful beginning or expansion of small business. SCORE counselors provide in-depth, industry-specific business assistance to help evaluate a business idea or plan, stimulate business growth and contribute to long-term stability.
For you, our Omaha Chapter provides free and confidential business advice and counseling tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives. For a modest fee, our chapter also offers workshops for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs.
